The roof painting preparation step is the most important task with any painting project. The key to a good looking and long lasting paint job is the preparation which often takes more time than the painting itself does; in fact, exterior painting preparation can make up 70% of the project.
The painting process
Pressure Clean the surface
High pressure clean the entire roof. If the roof has been painted previously, and the paint is loose or peeling, it will be necessary to strip off the old paint. Color Consultation is part of this step. Color Consultation is part of this step.
Repair the roof
Replacing broken tiles and re-pointing ridge caps, for example on a tiled roof. Replacing loose nails or screws, and removing rust on a metal roof. Waterproofing is part of this step
Prime / Paint the Surface
A concrete tile sealer and primer on tiled roofs. Apply two coats of roof paint
Since most roof painting projects takes more that one day to complete, we make certain to cleanup the area at the end of each work day as well as once the project has been completed. This includes removing all paint chips and packing up and storing our materials neatly.
